The Mountain of Fun Run forms part of Tash’s training for many events including the 50 kilometre treadmill world record which she blitzed in July 2017.
Tash is also a 3 time Australian 50km champion. In 2014 set a new course and Australian age record of 3.36 and a marathon time of 2.59.
In January 2017 she smashed the women’s record in the 56km Two Bays Ultramarathon on the Mornington Peninsula.
Tash is a determined competitor and is sure to do well again this year in the Mountain of Fun Run.
“The friendliest local fun run is back again folks. You can choose the personal challenge of running Mt Warrenheip in the 12.5k or swap that for some smaller inclines in the 6k. Whichever distance you choose all the money raised goes to support St Brendan’s Primary school at Dunnstown and the resulting endorphin buzz will be with you for days.”
Nic, a Baker is churning out 150+ kilometres a week as he builds up for the Mountain of Fun run, one of his favourite events. You’ve probably seen him racking up the kilometres around Ballarat and district.
Nic says. “It’s a great run with a few nice hills, very rewarding when you cross the finish line.”
Not only is Nic our ambassador but he is a great mentor to the students at St Brendan’s Primary school. He makes himself available for mentoring sessions with the kids, handing out some really valuable tips on running.
Van Raaphorst uses the event as part of his preparation for the upcoming season and a Marathon later in the year. Where he’ll be attempting to beat his personal best of 2 hours, 26.58 seconds, set in 2015.
